TRAVEL WELL

A good guest leaves a lighter trace.

A trail runs through more than scenery. It passes homes, working landscapes, sacred places and habitats. Small choices shape the experience for the people who live there and those who follow.

Follow the local lead

Ask before taking someone’s photograph. Observe local guidance at temples and monasteries. Let your guide explain customs, access restrictions and places where quiet matters.

Bring it back

  • Carry wrappers and other waste back to the proper collection point.
  • Use refillable bottles and reusable food containers.
  • Stay on established trails where available.
  • Keep a respectful distance from wildlife.
  • Leave plants, stones and cultural objects where you found them.

Support the place you came to see

Buy from local shops, try local food and treat the support crew with the same respect as your fellow travellers. The people who make a journey possible are part of the journey.

Let the place set the pace

A changed route or a slower day is sometimes the right decision. Good travel makes room for the landscape, the weather and the community.
